Growing Love Doula Services
Supporting people through Pregnancy, Labour, Birth and Postpartum near the rural areas of Airdrie + Calgary
About Me
Welcome to Growing Love!
Hi, I’m Shaira - I love being a Doula, chocolate and coffee.... all of this, about as much as I love being a Mother to my two girls. I describe my passion for my Doula Work as "I finally know what I want to do when I grow up!" and let me tell you, I seriously love it.
As a respected Doula in the Airdrie/Cochrane / Chestermere/Calgary and rural areas, I offer personalized prenatal, labour/birth, and postpartum support. I am a DONA trained Birth + Postpartum Doula. I have taken additional Breastfeeding Training to best support your breastfeeding journey. Additional trainings specifically include Spinning Babies, and the VBAC Link.
My goal as a Birth Doula is to give you and your partner the attention, knowledge, resources and confidence you need to make informed decisions about your pregnancy and birth experience.
My goal as a Postpartum Doula is to be a knowledgeable, calm and comfortable presence and resource you can count on during your Fourth Trimester.
To learn more about me and the services that I offer, please get in touch. I would love to meet up with you and your partner for coffee to see if we are a good fit, and how I can support you best!

Birth Doula Support
What Does My Support Look Like?

Prenatal Support
Informative, Compassionate and Personable. Throughout pregnancy, I offer unlimited phone/email support for any questions, concerns or feedback you may need. During our prenatal visit(s) we will discuss any concerns, questions and preferences about your pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum care. I am able to provide evidence based resources on certain topics and practices. As well, I have great relationships and contacts with many other prenatal/postpartum services that may benefit you.
Labour & Birth Support
I join you when the big moment is finally here! I do not leave or trade out at a certain time, I am with you through your entire birth journey. I ensure we follow your birth preferences as best as we can the entire way. Most of all, I make sure you are respected, heard, confident and educated through your labour and birth.

Postpartum Support
I stay with you after your baby is born to help establish breastfeeding, and ensure you both feel confident and proud moving forward. I offer unlimited phone support during postpartum, as well as a postpartum visit to discuss your birth story and go over anything you may need. I have great relationships and resources for postpartum care and support that I can share with you.
If you are seeking additional Postpartum Support we can discuss those options as well.

Postpartum Doula Support
As a professional and well-respected Postpartum Doula, my role is to provide confidence, reassurance and a calming energy to support you during your Fourth Trimester.
Bringing home your baby and adjusting to your new family dynamic may be something you’ve never done before. Maybe you have, and can benefit from the additional knowledge and support because you also have a toddler to care for. Perhaps you were blessed with more than one little babe, you could use that extra set of hands and someone to talk to and keep things calm at 3am.
As exciting and surreal as it is bringing your baby home, support can be invaluable in these times as you adjust to the many changes in your life. You will be discovering sleep changes, learning about new responsibilities, getting to know your baby and reading their cues, and recovering from birth.
I believe in building a world where we don’t have to do this alone.

Postpartum support looks different for every family and will be customized to your needs.
My fee for Postpartum Support ranges from $30-$35 /hr
Postpartum Support is guided by your needs and may include:
A prenatal visit to help prepare for the postpartum time; this may include preparation for breastfeeding
Getting the appropriate rest needed to recover from birth
Breastfeeding support and education (or supporting however you choose to feed your baby)
Tending to the parents needs so they can care for their baby; such as support with sleep for both parents and baby
Learning your baby’s cues for feeding, sleeping and comfort
Caring for older siblings and helping them adjust
Light household tasks including baby’s laundry, tidying & organization, and meal prep
Overnight care
Support for families with multiples
Support for Surrogates, Adoption, Single Parents and LGBTQ+ Parents
Supporting everyone to attain the skills and confidence they need to grow a happy and healthy family

Shaira truly enhanced our whole birth. We both could not picture our ‘birth story’ without her now. She was such a perfect balance of support and encouragement for both my husband and I. Shaira has such a passion and needs to share this with others!

Shaira, we are so thankful that you could be a part of our journey to meeting Margot! I can’t thank you enough for your constant support, encouragement & knowledge throughout. You were born to do this & will be a guiding light for many women as you continue in your inspirational journey of helping women & their newborns.

Hi Shaira, we are so lucky in that we have similar before/after support from both you and our midwife, but I must say your support during labour was invaluable and we will be recommending you to any other expecting friends we may have in the future! We honestly cannot emphasize that enough. I can imagine the extra before and after support would be even more important if we had only had an OB.

Thank you for considering me! I am currently taking time off from Doula work to focus on my family and acreage living.
If you are still looking for a doula, feel free to fill out the form and I am happy to make some recommendations!
